Expression Testing

Small scale cultures to measure expression levels from transient transfection in either HEK293 or CHO suspension cells. One step capture of protein of interest from cells or culture supernatant. 

  • Timeline: 1-2 weeks depending on expression pathway 
  • Deliverables: Expression results (SDS-PAGE, A280)  

Purification Optimization (Optional)

Utilizing an optimized system to evaluate the most pertinent purification cascade, our purification optimization allows us to establish pathways to achieve the highest yield and purity possible from mammalian expression.  

  • Timeline: ≤ 2 weeks 
  • Deliverables: Any available protein. Detailed protocol of work, Coomassie stained SDS-PAGE gels, chromatograms and analytical size exclusion if applicable.

Batch Productions

Our mammalian expression system allows for reliable and reproducible batch productions using the purification cascade established.  

  • Timeline: 1-2 weeks
  • Deliverables:
    • All protein that is available.
    • Analysis on Coomassie-blue stained SDS-PAGE gels.
    • Analysis from analytical size-exclusion chromatography to probe for purity and monodispersity of preps if efficient yield is achieved.
    • Full protein report for each preparation.

HEK293 & CHO Expression Platforms

HEK293 and CHO cells remain the gold standard for mammalian protein expression. HEK293 systems enable rapid, high‑level transient expression, while CHO platforms are ideal for stable expression and proteins requiring consistent human‑like glycosylation patterns.
